Otsuka is a successful, global group of affiliated companies that discovers, develops and markets innovative products. In the U.S., Otsuka is hard at work investigating potential new treatments, with numerous compounds in various stages of development to treat disorders of the cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, respiratory, renal and central nervous systems, and to treat cancer and ophthalmic disorders. Our pharmaceutical products include ABILIFY® (aripiprazole) Tablets and intramuscular injection, IV BUSULFEX® (busulfan) Injection and PLETAL® (cilostazol) Tablets, although we no longer actively market PLETAL. We also have the BreathTek™ Urea Breath Test for H. pylori. We have numerous additional products in our pipeline that are currently under development. We are highly diversified, with pharmaceutical as well as consumer products such as Crystal Geyser Water, NatureMade® Vitamins, Ridge Wines, and diagnostic equipment. Otsuka’s roots date back to 1921, when Busaburo Otsuka founded the original Otsuka Factory in Tokushima, Japan. In 1964, Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co, Ltd. (OPC) was established to enhance Otsuka’s pharmaceutical product development and commercialization. The company has since grown and diversified, investing in local enterprises and establishing corporations in 16 countries and regions worldwide. These comprise the Otsuka Pharmaceutical Group, a collection of 81 privately-owned companies employing more than 26,000 people.

We have brought together a diverse group of highly-skilled individuals who have commercialized PLETAL® (cilostazol) Tablets and ABILIFY® (aripiprazole) Tablets and have developed strong collaborations with Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., which co-develops and co-promotes ABILIFY, and other companies such as Santarus, Inc. with whom OAPI co-promotes ZEGERID® (omeprazole) Powder for Oral Suspension. We have also positioned ourselves for the commercialization of several other important products.
